Cam Newton – Will the Football Star Play in the National Championship?

cam newtonWill Cam Newton play for the National Title?  Auburn and Oregon will be going head-to-head for the first time in the National Championship game on January 10.

Cam Newton will be heading into the game as the top-rated player in the country despite the recent scandal involving his father.    Even though he was momentarily deemed ineligible to play, Cam Newton was almost immediately reinstated as the NCAA had determined he was not involved in his dad’s bad acts.  The entire incident has done nothing to hinder the star quarterback’s play as the more the rumors heated up, the better he seemed to perform on the field.

This will be the second national championship game for Auburn who made one appearance back in 1957.  It is the first time to the big game The University of Oregon Ducks.

Will you be cheering on Cam Newton and  the Auburn Tigers or the University of Oregon Ducks?

FIFA World Cup 2018: Dad David Beckham, Prince William Fail to Sway Voters

prince william fifa world cup 2018 england 2018 fifa world cup 2022

Prince William failed to sway voters in his FIFA presentation this morning

Apparently the World Cup bid committee wasn’t impressed by the likes of David Beckham, a dad of three, and Prince William, son of the late Princess Diana. Amid what’s sure to be huge backlash, the FIFA World Cup 2018 was awarded to Russia. The British newspapers are already in agony, with the Guardian calling the decision a “humiliation.”

So did Beckham lack the star power to convince the committee that England deserved the bid? Word is he and Prince William were not as compelling as some other speakers – even on the British delegation. (Confession: I love Beckham, and it would have been neat to see him play in front of his kids in his home country.) Of course there’s also already whispers that Russia got the bid by less-than-honest means, with allegations of money coming into play.

What do you think – did the right country win?
