The 5 Best & Worst of Oprah’s Favorite Things!

Oprah's Favorite THings

Receiving anything from Oprah Winfrey is a gift sent from the talk show gods. So anything and everything she bestows upon her audience is as good as gold. But on her Favorite Things Episodes, there is a certain frenzy over some of the big gifts; the cars, the trips, the diamonds. And although they are certainly fine items and products, when presented next to too these crazy good prizes, they just pale in comparison. Here is a round up of the 5 Best and 5 Worst from both Part 1 and Part 2 of Oprah’s Ultimate Favorite Things 2010.

The Best:

The VW Beetle
Getting a free car is pretty epic for anybody, but these lucky audience members will be some of the first to get the 2012 Volkswagen newly designed Beetle. And to avoid the snafu that happened last time Oprah gave away free cars, Volkswagen will be paying for all the fees and taxes so the cars really WILL be free.

The Cruise

Oh, to get a free vacation. Sounds pretty nice to me. And her audience members from Part 1 each got a 7-Day Cruise aboard the Allure of the Sea. And that’s not it, United Airlines is throwing in Round Trip airline tickets for everyone to get to the port!

Sony Bravia HDTV with 3D
The 3D technology is still a bit new, but still it’s a nice trick to have in your entertainment center. Oprah gave everyone one of these $3,600 TVs that came with a BluRay DVD Player and DVDs.

iPad
Seriously, who doesn’t want one of those?!?!

Diamond Earring
These simple $1900 Diamond Earrings by Dana Rebecca Designs, are, well pretty blingy!

The Worst

The Scrabble App for the iPad.
Yes, it’s just a gesture, something to get people started, but to be part of the price packages along side an iPad and a car…well…it can’t stand up.

Black Eyed Peas tied with Josh Groban

Oprah was supporting the performers, but a CD ain’t that much of a biggie…unless you really love either of these bands. Then it would be more prize worthy.

Jay-Z Book
Something tells me that Oprah’s audience isn’t probably that keen on Jay-Z. That’s probably why Oprah said, “If you know anybody who loves hip-hip, they are going to love this book.”  Know “anybody” rather than “if YOU.” Some teen or twenty something will so be getting this for Xmas.

A Course in Weight Loss book
I guess it’s better than having to go out to the store and buying it yourself. But if you yourself don’t need it, someone might get a wee bit offended if you give it to them. But Oprah is passionate about the weight loss topic, so this pick does make sense.

Oprah Season 25 T-shirt
You can’t blame her for adding in a little self promotion, but a Oprah pink long sleeve T? But these people in the audience will be Oprah fans FOR LIFE after being part of this audience. So they’ll probably wear it every day.
