Cartoon characters for Facebook are really taking off, as people are using their favorite cartoon characters for their Facebook profile pictures.

A huge variety of cartoon characters are being used on Facebook, because with cartoons of the 70s, 80s and 90s to pull from, there’s no shortage of great childhood cartoons to use.

A quick glance down my Facebook page brings back memories of Smurfette, Judy Jetson, Scooby Doo, Speed Racer, The Rugrats, and more.  It’s the perfect time to introduce the kids to those lovable characters of your youth and remember those lovely Saturday morning trying to stay quiet while mom and dad got caught up some weekend sleep.

Strawberry Shortcake and Smurfette are two female cartoon characters from the 80’s that I remember loving as a child. Strawberry Shortcake was always a favorite toy, and she always smelled good too! How many other plastic dolls smell like strawberries, anyway?

I can also remember getting up every Saturday morning for cartoons and watching Smurfette…and wondering why she was the only girl on The Smurfs.

Have you changed your Facebook profile picture to a cartoon character from the 80’s?
