On the 30th anniversary of John Lennon’s death, we’ve gotten to wondering if deranged Beatles fan Mark David Chapman, who murdered the father of two outside the Dakota building, will ever receive parole. He has been jailed for three decades after receiving a sentence of 20 years to life. Will Mark David Chapman get parole?
The answer is likely no. He has been denied parole six times, most recently in September of this year, when the parole board received 75 letters protesting his potential release, including one written by Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, who has written to voice her objection every time he’s up for parole.
Chapman, who says he killed Lennon out of jealousy, is jailed at the Attica Correctional Facility. Do you think he deserves parole for this heinous crime?
