Kate Middleton to Throw a Pre-Wedding Party with Friends and Family

Kate Middleton is going to have hold a huge pre-wedding party so her family and friends can enjoy a “normal” reception, unlike the traditional royal ceremony.

“Kate knows her wedding is going to be bound by formality. But she also wants to have a party in the run-up to her big day where she can relax and let her hair down,” a source familiar with the wedding plans told British newspaper, The Sun.

“She loves to have a giggle with her friends and doesn’t want them to miss out.  She wants them to be able to enjoy a drink and a dance without being paranoid about showing themselves up in front of Barack Obama or the Queen.”

The fact that Kate will be the first commoner to marry a future king in 350 years makes the upcoming nuptials to Prince William a huge deal!

Kate is pretty modern and  wants to enjoy her big moment separately with her friends and family, without feeling stifled by royal etiquette.  Understandably!

The royal wedding will be rich in tradition and formality – the royal couple won’t even be able to kiss during the church ceremony!

The big pre-wedding party will be held at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury, Berks a few weeks before the royal wedding which is set to take place on April 29, 2011 at the Westminster Abbey in London.
